Beijing North Railway Station is useful because it sits beside the Xizhimen transport interchange and serves part of Beijing’s northwest rail corridor. Its main trap is not the building. It is assuming that a ticket for Qinghe, Beijing West, Beijing South or central Beijing Station can be used here. Read the departure station on the booking before planning the metro trip.

The Chinese name to match is 北京北站, often shown as Beijingbei in booking systems. If the ticket shows a different station, follow that station even when the destination appears on several Beijing departures.

Confirm Beijing North before leaving the hotel

Beijing distributes trains across several terminals. The rail station and metro interchange are connected at the same transport complex, but a line change and the final walk still take time. Follow signs for 北京北站 rather than leaving through the first Xizhimen exit.
